Manager admits Spurs and Everton-linked target will leave during the current window

Fenerbahce coach Jorge Jesus has admitted that Kim Min-Jae will depart the club during the current transfer window.

Kim has made 39 appearances for the Turkish club after his £2.7 million arrival from Chinese outfit BJ Guoan last summer (Transfermarkt).

Turkish news outlet Fanatik have credited Tottenham, Everton, and Napoli with an interest in the 6 ft 3-inch defender and it now appears that he will be sold this summer.

The 25-year-old has a £19 million release clause in his contract, meaning his current side are powerless to prevent a departure if the fee is met (Calciomercato).

Spurs have already added Barcelona man Clement Lenglet on a season-long loan deal (Sky Sports), however, The Evening Standard report that the Lilywhites may still look to target another defender in this window.

Jesus voiced his frustration at the impending departure of Kim. He said as quoted by Calcio Mercato: “His transfer was planned, but it was a surprise for me. I heard (about Kim’s exit) two days ago.

“Unfortunately, our club can’t do anything about it. We can’t keep him. The club interested in him will pay the termination clause in the contract. It was a big blow to learn it.

“We have other players of excellent level. But Kim has important qualities.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs seem to be linked to this player in every window. However, he has most certainly improved his game and now looks like an accomplished long passer, adding to his dominant physicality.

Whether Antonio Conte will give the transfer the go-ahead remains to be seen.
