Manager confirms PL club have shown ‘large interest’ in Spurs-linked striker

Ramsgate manager Matt Longhurst has confirmed that a Premier League club have shown interest in rumoured Tottenham target Joshua Ajayi.

Ajayi has been on fire in front of goal this season, having scored 19 times in 24 appearances so far in the Isthmian League South East Division.

The Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor has revealed that the former Crystal Palace youngster has caught the attention of Tottenham and Stevenage.

The journalist claimed the 19-year-old is set to have a trial at Spurs next week on the back of his impressive first half of the campaign.

Ajayi reportedly signed a two-year contract with the Rams back in the summer. However, Longhurst has now admitted in an interview with Ramsgate’s social media channel that the teenager might be on his way out of the Southwood Stadium soon.

He revealed that not only had a Premier League club contacted the Rams about Ajayi but also stated there had been a bid offer on the table for the youngster.
