Manager insists midfielder reportedly wanted by Paratici is ‘not for sale’

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has insisted that rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target, Weston McKennie will not be sold this summer.

Tottenham have made some changes to their midfield ranks over recent days, with Moussa Sissoko departing the club and Pape Sarr joining from Metz.

Spurs are also allegedly looking to snap up Barcelona starlet Ilaix Moriba while there still remains a question mark over Tanguy Ndombele’s future.

One midfielder Fabio Paratici is thought to be keen on replacing Ndombele with is McKennie, with the Spurs managing director of football even thought to have offered the Frenchman to his former club as part of a potential swap deal for the American.

However, sources have claimed that Juve are not interested in such a swap deal and would only let McKennie go if they receive a straight cash offer of around more than €25m- €30m (£21.3m-£25.6m).

Allegri has now completely ruled out the possibility of the former Schalke man leaving the Allianz Stadium this summer.

He said (via Fabrizio Romano): “Weston McKennie has to stay here at Juventus, he’s not for sale. He’s part of the project and he can improve.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Unlike some Spurs fans who were excited about McKennie link, I was never convinced he would improve our starting eleven. So, I am not overly disappointed with this news. Regardless, it seems like Paratici has decided to prioritise a deal for Moriba ahead of the Juve midfielder.
