Tottenham Hotspur proved to be too tough to beat at home in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Heung-min Son’s strike in 78th minute moved the north London club closer towards making history.
Spurs will take a narrow 1-0 advantage into the Etihad on Wednesday night.
If they manage to hold on to it, the Lilywhites will qualify for the semi-finals of the competition for the first time in the club’s history.
However, that job will not be easy, especially with the recent injury update ahead of the clash that Guardiola has provided.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager confirmed that star striker Sergio Aguero will be fit and ready to face Tottenham.
The Argentine has scored 19 goals in the Premier League and five in the Champions League so far this season.
Guardiola also added that defensive midfielder Fernandinho trained with the team yesterday.
The 33-year-old Brazil international could fully recover from his injury and at least be on the bench against Spurs.
Here’s what Guardiola said on the Citizens’ official Twitter page:
PEP ? I think everyone is fit. I don't think @Azinchenko17 will train today, the other ones came back yesterday and are recovering well. @fernandinho trained yesterday. Low intensity but he trained.

PEP ? @aguerosergiokun is fit. He needs competition, and needs a little time to get to his best condition. Tomorrow is not about physical condition. We want to get to semi-final, that is the challenge.
