Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez is fighting to be fit enough to play in Monday night’s Premier League clash against Spurs.

The former Arsenal forward missed the 3-2 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho spoke after the defeat on the south coast of Sanchez’s injury:

“I don’t know really.”

“Let’s wait for the results of the studies, but I don’t think it’s a big thing,” he told reporters.

“I think it will be one or two weeks maximum.”

However, Sanchez has taken to Instagram to provide a message to the fans on his injury.

On the platform, he said: “Training to be back soon.”

Could this be a hint the forward will in fact return for the Spurs clash?

Should the Chilean winger not make the cut for Monday’s clash Tottenham transfer target Anthony Martial could step in for Sanchez.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Everyone has their own opinion but Sanchez and Martial are clearly both good players so whoever is in the ManU squad will be a tough test. They are always better at home and will be suffering after defeat to Brighton. Suspect a point would be a good result, but I’d love all three!
