Marco Reus takes time to praise Tottenham star

Tottenham Hotspur booked their place in the quarter finals of the Champions League on Tuesday night after beating Borussia Dortmund 4-0 on aggregate.

Spurs managed to beat the Germans both home and away for the second year running in the Champions League.

The last time the Lilywhites made it to the quarter finals of the competition was under Harry Redknapp back in 2011, but they have never progressed any further.

Pochettino will be looking to do exactly that this season, without any clear favourite for the trophy.

Despite the 1-0 win and clean sheet on Tuesday away from home for Spurs, Dortmund’s Marco Reus played extremely well.

He was the one player who looked as if he could spark a revival if any, and was at the heart of every Dortmund attack.

Despite his bitter disappointment after being bested by Spurs again, he still took the time out to praise Spurs shot stopper Hugo Lloris, who had an excellent game.

Reus said (HITC): “We needed a goal before half-time, we did not make it. We had an incredible number of chances to score, but [Hugo Lloris] also did very well.”
