Marco Silva, who is thought to be one of the names at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist to replace Ange Postecoglou this summer, has broken his silence on the speculation surrounding his future.
A number of outlets have reported over the last week that Tottenham are expected to turn their attention to Marco Silva after learning that their top managerial target, Andoni Iraola, is leaning towards staying at Bournemouth.
The Portuguese coach has done extremely impressive work at Fulham, with the Cottagers battling for European qualification.
According to some sources, Marco Silva has a release clause of £10m in his contract, which means that Tottenham Hotspur might not have to worry about negotiating with the West London club if they are prepared to pay the fee.

Silva reacts to speculation over his Fulham future
According to various outlets, Tottenham want to secure a new manager early in the summer and does not want a repeat of the protracted managerial search that occurred in 2021 and 2023.
However, the North London club will not be encouraged by Silva’s latest comment, with the 47-year-old insisting that his focus for the moment is only on Fulham’s objectives and not on his own future.
When asked about the rumours linking him with the likes of Tottenham, Marco Silva told DAZN (as relayed by A Bola): “My head is at Fulham. We don’t control everything that happens around us. It’s not part of me. With such important games week after week, our total focus is here and we control what we can, which is preparing the players for the next games.”
Fulham’s plan to stop Marco Silva from joining Tottenham
Spurs are not expected to find it easy to get the Portuguese coach through the door, with the Cottagers reportedly determined to keep him at the club.
It has been claimed over recent weeks that Fulham are ready to offer Marco Silva an improved contract to ward off Tottenham’s interest and to remove his release clause.
Addressing the speculation last week, Fulham vice-chairman Tony Khan made it clear the club want Silva to stay for many years and continue building on the foundations he has laid.
