Mark Lawrenson on who he thinks will win between Spurs and Chelsea

BBC football pundit Mark Lawrenson has given his prediction on who he thinks will win between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.

Both sides meet at Wembley Stadium in tomorrow’s late kick off in the Premier League in what could be a huge game in the race for a top four finish.

Chelsea currently lead Tottenham by a point in the table with the London rivals sitting third and fourth respectively.

Lawrenson believes that Tottenham will come out as 2-0 winners to inflict a first defeat on Maurizio Sarri’s mercenaries.

Mauricio Pochettino will once again be without the services of Mousa Dembele, Danny Rose and Davinson Sanchez who are all sidelined through injury.

There is good news with the return of Jan Vertonghen, the Belgian has been out of action since picking up a hamstring strain at Huddersfield on September 29th.

Tottenham’s record against Chelsea in recent years has not been great, Pochettino’s side are looking to win consecutive league games against Chelsea for the first time since August 1987.

He told BBC Sport online: “A lot has been made about Chelsea’s impressive start under Maurizio Sarri, but Tottenham are only a point behind them.

“If they win this, Spurs go above the Blues, which is an extra incentive – not that they need it, because there is not too much love lost between the two sides.

“Lawro’s prediction: 2-0.”
