BBC football pundit Mark Lawrenson has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Leicester City on Sunday.
It will be the final Premier League game to be held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season with a trip to Crystal Palace to follow next weekend in what has been a campaign which most Spurs fans will want to forget.
Last time out, Lawrenson correctly predicted that Jose Mourinho’s side would beat Newcastle, but guessed the scoreline incorrectly when he tipped a 2-0 win when it ended up as a 3-1 victory for the North Londoners (BBC).
Tottenham’s hopes of a miraculous late surge to make it into the top four were ended last night when Leicester were able to see off Sheffield United 2-0 with the focus firmly now on Europa League qualification.
The former Liverpool defender believes that Spurs will make it three wins in a row when the Foxes visit N17.
He told BBC Sport: “Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho seems to have found a settled side and they have started to play a bit better, although it is too late for them to make the top four.
“I have a feeling Leicester are going to miss out too. They were more like their old selves against Sheffield United on Thursday but they have not been consistent enough since football restarted last month.
“What is in the Foxes’ favour is that, whatever happens in this game, they know they will still have a chance of making the Champions League places when they host Manchester United on the final day.
“Lawro’s prediction: 2-1.”
