Mark Lawrenson on who will win between Spurs and Norwich

BBC football pundit Mark Lawrenson has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Norwich City.

The Canaries are currently propping up the bottom of the Premier League table with Spurs also desperate for three points in order to try and keep their slim hopes of a top four finish alive.

Since a Dele Alli goal against Brighton on Boxing Day, Spurs haven’t scored a Premier League goal in open play in their last six hours and 18 minutes of football, attempting 52 efforts in open play without success in that time.

In fact, Spurs are winless in four league games, having won five of their opening seven under Jose Mourinho.

Spurs are boosted by the return of Tanguy Ndombele to provide some much needed cover to the holding midfield position with Moussa Sissoko ruled out until at least April.

Lawrenson believes that Spurs will notch up their first win in the top flight in 2020 wth victory in North London.

He told BBC Sport: “Tottenham have now gone four league games without a win, and three without a goal – so it is fair to say their manager Jose Mourinho needs both to arrive on Wednesday.

“I know they are without Harry Kane and he is a big miss but they coped without him last year, when they went with the pace of Lucas Moura and Son-Heung Min.

“Mourinho has to come up with something here – and he really should be able to find a way to beat the Premier League’s bottom team at home.

“Norwich played well when these two sides met at Carrow Road last month, but they have the worst away record in the Premier Division so it is hard to see them getting anything this time.

“Lawro’s prediction: 2-1.”
