Mark Lawrenson on who will win between West Brom and Tottenham

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against West Bromwich Albion.

Jose Mourinho’s side make the trip to The Hawthorns tomorrow lunchtime to face the Premier League newcomers.

Since losing their opening game of the season against Everton, Tottenham are now on the longest current unbeaten run in the Premier League (W4 D2). Coming into this weekend’s games, Spurs are also the highest scorers in the Premier League this term (18).

Lawrenson believes that Spurs will come out on top in the clash having claimed that the North Londoners are continuing to show improvement in their performances while the Baggies may struggle to stay in the Premier League with their current crop of players.

West Brom are winless in their last eight Premier League games (D3 L5) with Slaven Bilic’s side having let in 18 goals during this run and failed to score in five different games.

He told the BBC: “Tottenham beat Brighton last week despite not being totally convincing, but I don’t mind that. They are getting better as a team and, while they are doing that, they are getting positive results as well.

“It is a different story with West Brom. They will need 36 points or so to stay up, but at the moment I don’t know where they are going to get them from with what they have got.

“The Baggies have had their moments in games, but they only seem to last 20 or 30 minutes and that is not enough to see them through.

“Lawro’s prediction: 0-2.”
