Mark Lawrenson predicts who will win between Arsenal and Spurs

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has shared his scored prediction ahead of the North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham come into the fixture looking to capitalise on Everton and Chelsea’s failure to register victories yesterday.

Having won their first four away league games this season, Tottenham have won just two of their subsequent nine on the road in the Premier League (D3 L4). Meanwhile, having scored 11 goals in their opening two away league games this season (5-2 v Southampton, 6-1 v Man Utd), Spurs have netted just 10 in their last 11 away from home.

Arsenal are winless in their last five meetings with Tottenham in all competitions (D2 L3) – they’ve never gone six without a win against their north London rivals before.

Lawrenson believes that Tottenham will once again secure the bragging rights with victory at the Emirates and will also keep a clean sheet in the process.

He told BBC Sport: “Tottenham are firing properly now – they have scored four goals in three of their past four games – and Jose Mourinho is always very keen to let people know about it.

“I don’t blame Jose for banging his drum about it, because Spurs have hit form and found some consistency.

“That’s what Arsenal need – they have produced some good performances recently but I am still not really sure what to expect from them week to week.

“Lawro’s prediction: 0-2.”
