Mark Lawrenson predicts who will win between Crystal Palace and Tottenham

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s final Premier League game of the season at Crystal Palace.

Wolves and Tottenham are now assured of a top seven finish. Both will want to finish sixth however, so they don’t have to worry about the result of the FA Cup final. When Spurs make the trip to South London must better sixth-placed Wolves’ result at Chelsea to overtake them.

North London rivals Arsenal could deny a Europa League place to the team who finish seventh if they beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final.

Spurs have been boosted by the return of Eric Dier and Dele Alli from suspension and injury, with Jose Mourinho only unable to call upon the services of Tanguy Ndombele (knee).

Lawrenson has tipped Spurs to finish the season with a victory while also claiming that Wolves will lose 2-1 at Chelsea, which would see Mourinho’s side secure sixth-place and Europa League football.

He told BBC Sport: “It seems a very long time ago that Crystal Palace marked their return to Premier League action in June by beating Bournemouth to move level with Tottenham in the table.

“At that stage, both teams had 40 points from 30 games – but they have gone in opposite directions in the past few weeks.

“The Eagles have lost all seven of their matches since then, while Spurs are finishing their season strongly and Harry Kane is scoring goals again. I’m expecting more of the same here.

“Lawro’s prediction: 0-2.”
