Mark Lawrenson predicts who will win between Spurs and Burnley

BBC football pundit Mark Lawrenson has shared his prediction ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley.

Last time out, the former Liverpool defender incorrectly predicted that Tottenham would beat Manchester United 2-0, when in fact it ended as a 2-1 win for the Old Trafford outfit (BBC Sport).

The loss on Wednesday to United was Jose Mourinho’s first since taking over from Mauricio Pochettino and will certainly be looking for his players to start the match against the Clarets in a better manner.

Another element to the game which the Portuguese needs to urgently address is the defence, with Spurs having conceded two goals in each of Mourinho’s four matches in charge.

Burnley come into the game having won two and lost four of their last six top flight matches.

Lawrenson has tipped Tottenham to bounce back from the defeat and believes that all three points will remain in North London.

He told BBC Sport Online: Burnley are another team to have hit the buffers a bit, suffering back-to-back home defeats against Crystal Palace and Manchester City.

Tottenham did not really get going at Old Trafford in midweek but I am expecting them to be far better this time. If so, they should win pretty comfortably.

Lawro’s prediction: 2-0
