Mark Lawrenson shares his Brighton v Tottenham prediction

BBC football pundit Mark Lawrenson has shared his prediction ahead of this evening’s Premier League match between Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur.

Jose Mourinho’s side travel to the south coast on the back of a disappointing 3-1 defeat at home to Liverpool on Thursday evening.

Tottenham were shaky at the back against the Premier League champions with all three goals conceded having come from individual defensive errors, while also struggling to pose a threat at the other end of the pitch.

Spurs will have to find goals from elsewhere with Harry Kane currently sidelined due to the double ankle injury he suffered against the Reds.

Tottenham have lost just one of their last 12 away Premier League games (W6 D5), with that defeat coming at Liverpool in December, a stark contrast to their current run of form at home.

Lawrenson believes that Spurs will return to winning ways against Graham Potters side whilst also keeping a clean sheet.

He told the BBC: “Brighton have been playing pretty well but they still haven’t won at home in the league this season and, until that changes, they are not going to pull away from the bottom of the table.

“I don’t see the Seagulls getting three points here, either. Tottenham have not really hit top gear for a few weeks now but I think they will find a way of winning this one.”

“Lawro’s prediction: 0-2.”
