Mark Lawrenson shares his Forest v Spurs score prediction

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest this afternoon.

Forest come into the match following their 1-1 draw against Everton in their previous fixture. Being a newly promoted side, the hosts have done well to get four points from their opening three matches.

However, the Reds have failed to maintain consistency in their displays and have often conceded more chances than they should have against their opponents.

Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min and Dejan Kulusevski have created great chemistry with each other, and they have made themselves a major threat during transitions and counterattacks. That could create problems for Steve Cooper’s team, who are known to throw bodies into the frontline.

Lawrenson predicts that Antonio Conte’s club will have it easy against their opponents looking at how Forest’s matches have played out so far this season. Lawro sees potential in the Reds squad, but their willingness to freely attack better teams is said to be a double-edged sword.

Lawrenson told Paddy Power: “Forest have started well and got a good point at Everton, regardless of the fact it was Everton! You just think this is a real big test for them, certainly the biggest test so far.”

“I saw Forest’s opening game of the season which they did well to win 1-0 but they gave away lots of opportunities. If they give them up again against Tottenham I think they’ll get punished.”

Lawro’s Score Prediction: Nottingham Forest 0-3 Tottenham

Spurs Web Opinion:

Forest have been very active in the market so far, having brought in players to help Cooper bolster their ranks to remain in the top flight. They are also known to take the game to their opponents, but Spurs should not find it troublesome at all.

Tottenham have more than enough quality in their team to see off the Reds and get all three points from this fixture. This clash could also be a great opportunity to build some momentum and push themselves to the front of the league table.
