Mark Lawrenson shares his West Ham vs Spurs prediction

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against West Ham United this lunchtime in what is a huge match for both sides.

Last time out, Lawrenson correctly predicted that Manchester City would beat Jose Mourinho’s side but stated the score would be 2-1 when it ended up as a 3-0 victory for the current Premier League leaders.

Spurs have already lost seven Premier League matches this season. It is the second-worst return of Jose Mourinho’s managerial career, after losing nine times with Chelsea in 2015-16.

The Hammers come into the match in good form having already earned three more points in 2020-21 than they did in the entirety of the previous season and currently sit above Spurs in the table.

Lawrenson believes that it will be Tottenham who will secure the bragging rights over their London rivals and secure a much-needed top flight victory.

Lawrenson told the BBC:West Ham are flying, and are up in fifth place while Tottenham have been pretty ordinary, or worse, recently.

“On form, you would have to go with the Hammers every time but Harry Kane is back for Spurs now and a moment or two of quality from him could make all the difference – they really need it too.

“Lawro’s prediction: 1-2.”
