Tottenham fans will adore Mark Lawrenson’s score prediction for Bournemouth

Tottenham Hotspur supporters often sing Barry Manilow’s ‘Can’t Smile Without You’ and Mark Lawrenson’s score prediction would certainly give them a reason to smile on Sunday.

Tottenham supporters have had little cause for joy this season. Despite recently securing three consecutive Premier League wins, Spurs could be as low as 16th by the end of the weekend if they lose to Bournemouth.

The Cherries on the other hand are having quite the campaign. They are competing for European football and have already recorded a victory over Spurs this season in a win which saw them move above the North London side in the Premier League table.

Bournemouth’s recent form, however, has seen them drop in the table. With three defeats in their past four league matches, the coastal club are looking less of a threat to the teams having to face them.

Mark Lawrenson’s score prediction for Tottenham vs Bournemouth

Mark Lawrenson believes Bournemouth’s recent woes are set to continue and he has predicted Spurs not only to win, but to keep a clean sheet too.

He expects Tottenham to increase in quality due to key players returning after spells on the sidelines.

Making his prediction on Paddy Power he said: “All of a sudden Tottenham are starting to look vaguely competent again and it’s no surprise now that they’ve got some players back on the pitch.

“I like Bournemouth a lot but their form has dropped off a bit after they went on a bit of a winning spree.”

Spurs have kept some clean sheets recently

Lawrenson’s prediction may come as a surprise as Tottenham look to be on a downward slope again, but they have had some positive results in the league.

Also, Spurs managed to keep clean sheets against Brentford and Manchester United in recent matches, while they only conceded once against Manchester City and Ipswich Town.

As well as this, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are in the mix for Tottenham on Sunday. With their first-choice centre-backs back in action, Spurs will be back to full strength in defence and if both start this weekend, a clean sheet is not out of the question.
