Joe Rodon has been praised by the media back in Wales for his impressive display in the 3-0 loss to France in a friendly on Wednesday.
The Tottenham defender has been a mainstay at the back for Wales for multiple years and they will be counting on him to have a good tournament if they are to progress far into the European Championship this summer.
Although Rodon may not have clocked up as many appearances as he would have hoped for in his first season at Spurs, the centre-back has admitted that training with top-quality players at the club has helped him to improve as a defender.
France demonstrated on Wednesday that Wales have plenty of work to do if they wish to compete with the best teams in this summer’s competition, as Les Blues eased to a 3-0 win with goals from Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele.
Although, the Wales side were reduced to ten men fairly early on. Despite a disappointing result for the away side, Rodon was praised by Wales Online for his showing on the night.
The publication gave the Tottenham man an 8/10 for his performance and wrote: “Marking Mbappe has to be one of the hardest tests in world football and Rodon performed well.
“Played a lovely diagonal over-the-top ball to [Daniel] James in the first half, showcasing his passing ability.
“Found it increasingly difficult as the game wore on and France’s extra man told, but was excellent on the whole.”
