Ryan Mason will miss Tottenham’s Premier League trip to Crystal Palace as he continues to struggle with his niggling ankle problem.

The England midfielder has not played since suffering his ankle complaint in the goalless draw against Chelsea on November 29.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino should restore a number of regulars after mixing up selection for Wednesday’s 2-0 FA Cup third-round replay victory at Leicester.

Provisional squad: Lloris, Vorm, Walker, Rose, Trippier, Davies, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Vertonghen, Dembele, Carter-Vickers, Fazio, Winks, Dier, Alli, Carroll, Bentaleb, Townsend, Eriksen, Onomah, Chadli, Lamela, Son, Kane.

  1. When's Pritchard coming back? Not that he was ever really in our squad …but I'm looking forward to him challenging for a place in the team. Not missing Mason too much at present, but he could prove vital over the next few months, as the games come thick and fast and pressure is put on our young talent …so ease yourself back in Ryan.

  2. Mason is a viable alternative to Carroll and Bentaleb – ie a very useful squad player and is a full international don't forget. Looking at it we haven't missed him because Carroll I believe has stepped up and Dembele has been given the chance to become the player we all hoped he was. Still, we need him back. His performance against Sunderland shows the lad is top drawer.

  3. No-one needs to be dropped.
Pocc knows he needs to rotate players but Dier has played almost every minute this season
Mason can play in two midfield positions – defensive or slightly further forward
    He's a worthwhile squad member
