Midfielder departs Spurs for the season

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Massimo Luongo has joined Ipswich on a season-long loan deal.

The 19-year-old midfielder for those of you who aren’t aware of the youngster is an Australian Under-20’s international and made his Spurs debut on 20 September 2011 in a 7-6 extra-time penalty shoot out loss to Stoke City in the League Cup, replacing Sandro after 70 minutes. Luongo missed Tottenham’s 8th penalty in the shootout, resulting in defeat.

“Joining Ipswich on loan is a great opportunity for me and I’m really looking forward to challenging for a first-team place here,” Luongo told the club’s official website.
