Tottenham Hotspur travel to Goodison Park later this afternoon to take on Everton in a game where both sides desperately need three points.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are winless away from home in the Premier League since January and have conceded at least two goals in every away top flight game so far this campaign.
A first away win of the campaign this afternoon at Goodison will be invaluable for the Lilywhites but the task just got much harder as Spurs have reportedly been hit with another major blow ahead of the game.
Football.London have reported that Harry Kane is now a doubt for the game with an unspecified issue with Alasdair Gold suggesting on social media that the striker could be down with an illness.
Some Spurs fans on social media were shattered to hear the news and insisted that it is a massive blow to the side’s chances. Some others, however, managed to retain some optimism and hoped that other players could step up and deliver the goals to get the team over the line.
At least he's not injured. Unfortunate but I know he'll be back ready & willing before the week is up. #COYS @HKane https://t.co/7UsBLasTZT

Hearing Harry Kane is out of today’s game due to illness. I’m really that worried, as problems are defensive and in midfield rather than offensive. I just hope @HKane gets better soon.

Everton will be boosted with the omission of Harry Kane, but #thfc in whatever way need to find a way of getting three points.
It’s urgent or we’re just hovering above the relegation zone.

Spurs Web Opinion
This really is terrible news particularly given Kane’s brilliant record against Everton. With Lloris also out with a dislocated elbow, the likes of Vertonghen, Alderweireld, and Rose (if they play) really need to provide some leadership on the pitch. Another defeat this evening will be a massive blow to our objective of salvaging something from this season.
