‘Massive boost’ – Stellini opens up on Antonio Conte’s Spurs return this week

Tottenham Hotspur are set to welcome Antonio Conte back to Hotspur Way tomorrow, with the Italian deemed fit enough to resume his duties following surgery to remove his gallbladder.

While Conte returned to Spurs last month and oversaw the defeats to Leicester City and AC Milan, he quickly returned to Italy to continue his recovery.

At first, it seemed as though Tottenham were not missing their main man on matchdays, with Stellini and Ryan Mason leading Spurs to wins over Man City, West Ham, and Chelsea.

However, consistency has once again become the problem for Spurs this season as they followed up that positive run of form with an FA Cup exit to Sheffield United and a 1-0 defeat to Wolves.

When asked about Conte’s return, Stellini confirmed the manager would be back tomorrow and suggested it would be a big boost for the Spurs squad.

He said (Football London): “Antonio will be a massive boost for us from tomorrow until the end of the season. It is important that Antonio is back.

“We want to have him back with a different result but the team show to Antonio it is alive.

“They want to win, they want to control the game, they want to dominate the game and this is important I think.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

We are all happy to see Conte fit and well again, but the problems remain the same. They were there before he left and they are still here now that he’s back.

Spurs can beat anyone on their day but have no consistency to string wins together, and that is a huge issue in the Premier League.
