Harry Kane has reacted to Tottenham Hotspur securing their place in the Premier League on the final day of the season.

There is now huge relief among everyone assosiated with Spurs, who managed to win at home in the league for just the third time this season to ensure they stayed up by two points.

The nerves were certainly tingling at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as nearly 12 minutes of injury time were added on after West Ham had beaten Everton.

Roberto De Zerbi had predicted that Spurs would feel more pressure against Everton than they did in the Europa League final, and that is exactly what happened, but he will be delighted that his side managed to hold their nerve and get over the line.

Harry Kane congratulates Tottenham fans after the club avoided relegation

Harry Kane, who was the hero for Bayern Munich on Saturday, netting a hat-trick in the final of DFP-Pokal against Stuttgart, has now reacted to Tottenham’s win over Everton.

The England captain congratulated everyone at his former club and the fans, while also praising De Zerbi’s men for the fight they showed this afternoon.

Kane wrote on X: “Congratulations to everyone at the club, especially the fans – massive fight and result on the final day!”

The importance of Spurs’ win over Everton could not be overstated

Relegation would have had crippling financial consequences on Tottenham, and could have potentially set the club back five years or more.

There was no guarantee that the club would have been able to jump straight back to the top-flight, as relegation could have triggered a mass exodus from Spurs this summer.

Staying up now allows Tottenham to rebuild under De Zerbi, who has shown that he is the right man to lead the club forward.
