The deadlock is yet to broken at the half time interval in the first Premier League game at Tottenham’s new stadium.
The occasion began with a rousing opening ceremony that involved a magical rendition of ‘Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur’
However, exciting moments have been few and far between in the game as Crystal Palace seem content to defend deep and frustrate Spurs.
The away side have barely launched any meaningful attacks throughout the half as Spurs completely dictated the play.
If Tottenham’s decision making in the final third was a bit better, the home side could have been easily been two goals up in the game.
The Spurs fans were in fantastic voice throughout the half, as the difference between the atmosphere at Wembley and the one tonight has been like night and day.
However, by the looks of it, some Spurs fans on social media are getting extremely nervous at the lack of a breakthrough so far.
Here’s how some of them reacted to the first half performance:
Too many looking to score the first goal instead of making better passes. All us though

#thfc Reality is biting a little for Spurs here & tension has crept into the stadium. Rose & Davies flinging in some good crosses but Palace equal to them all so far

Seen people saying we’ve been unlucky. We haven’t been unlucky, we’ve been blunt in front of goal. At the start of the season we would have been 3 up at the break. Need that lethal touch 2nd half

A massive second-half coming up in the context of Tottenham Hotspur’s season in their first Premier League game at the #NewSpursStadium
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have been low on quality in the final third, just get the feeling the first goal will be hugely crucial.#THFC #COYS https://t.co/sTYZ43pL5p

All been a bit predictable so far – get it wide, get a cross in; Palace’s CBs dealing with it all so far. But we’ve looked quite threatening the few times we’ve been on the counter or when Eriksen’s made a late run into the box (albeit he’s fluffed his lines a couple of times).
