Some Tottenham fans on social media were left delighted with how the side ground out three points against Burnley yesterday evening.
The Lilywhites have been playing some swashbuckling football at the start of the season and the likes of Son and Kane have been scoring for fun.
Jose Mourinho’s men went into the clash at Turf Moor having scored eleven goals in their last two away games against Southampton and Manchester United.
However, they showed a completely different side to their game on Monday as Sean Dyche’s men made things extremely difficult by sitting deep and denying the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min any space.
Spurs were bombarded with longballs throughout the ninety minutes and had to keep their concentration and defend resolutely.
However, they did just that and earned their goal through a well-worked corner kick as Kane got a flick on and Son finished with a well-placed header at the far post.
Some Spurs fans were over the moon to come away from that game with three points and praised the grit that the players showed

Hardest result of the season so far that. Most important thing was the three points which takes us 2 points off 1st place. Clean sheet a massive bonus. Best goal difference so far in the league too. #COYS

That’s what you call a hard earned win. Those wins can sometimes do more in the long run than the 5-0 hammerings etc (forgetting the goal difference obv lol)

Sometimes you play well and don’t win. Sometimes you play average and you do win. Football doesn’t need to make sense all of the time. It can’t be swashbuckle every game. Burnley well drilled, organised. Spurs lacked a zest, zip. But we found that moment of quality. That’ll do.

Don’t underestimate how big those 3 points and clean sheet was today. That sort of game over the last few seasons we would have drawn or lost. #COYS

Brilliant 3 points despite a proper shocker of a performance. Up the spurs!

Has to be one of the best defensive performances I have seen from Spurs centre backs. We are learning. We move!!! COYS pic.twitter.com/JAG7yOtwO1

Not sure if that was a jose masterclass or we got away with one 😂 in principle i understood the selection but we lose so much without Reguilon. Anyway 3pts clean sheet all the matter COYS 👍
