Mathys Tel is yet to make a huge impression in north London, but with interest beginning to grow elsewhere, questions are being asked about his long-term future at Tottenham.
Mathys Tel’s start to life in north London has not been anything spectacular, with the young Frenchman still finding his feet.
However, last time out in the Premier League, Tel added a second goal to his tally for the season with a strike against Manchester United, helping to draw Spurs level in a game they were behind for most of it.
Tel is definitely down the pecking order for Thomas Frank, with Randal Kolo Muani and Richarlison having been given the nod from the off in recent weeks.

AS Roma eye January move for Tottenham forward Mathys Tel
A report from Giallorossi.net now claims that Mathys Tel’s recent performances have caught the eye of AS Roma.
It is explained that the Tottenham player is one of the options being considered for a January move by Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, who are desperate for attacking signings in the winter window.
Tel is not the only player on the radar of the Serie A side, with Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee and Gianluca Scamacca also seen as potential options.
It is claimed that Tel could consider a move, and that is because of his initial exclusion from Tottenham’s Champions League squad and his search for more playing time.
Tel handed rare Spurs Champions League hope
Tel was only signed permanently by Tottenham in the summer window following his loan spell in January, making reports of a potential sale in the winter hard to believe.
The 20-year-old’s contract at Spurs runs until 2031, and Tel has repeatedly stated that he will fight for his place in the Tottenham squad following his exclusion from Frank’s Champions League list.
With Muani injured and likely to be sidelined for an extended period, and given UEFA’s new rule, there is a chance Tel could be registered in the Spurs Champions League squad later this month.
