Mathys Tel reveals his Tottenham training focus after touching Mo Kudus praise

Mathys Tels finally opened his goalscoring account for Tottenham this season, and after the match, he revealed the specific work he had been putting in during training before netting his first goal for the club.

Tottenham Hotspur have had a busy spell since the last international break, with the Lilywhites playing football matches every three days in a congested schedule that tested both their fitness and mentality.

During that run, however, things did not entirely go their way, as Spurs were held to back-to-back draws in the Premier League that saw them slip slightly in momentum.

With the October international break next on the calendar, Tottenham needed to get back to winning ways before players departed for national duty, and they did just that with a strong performance away from home.

Mathys Tel explains what led to his Tottenham goal

Mohammed Kudus and Mathys Tel were both on the scoresheet as Tottenham secured a much-needed victory, putting an end to their run of draws in the league.

Tottenham forward Mathys Tel reflected on the hard-fought win after the final whistle, speaking to TNT Sports about what made the difference on the night and the work that went into his performance.

He admitted it was not an easy match, praising the opposition for their display, but emphasised that the result was earned through resilience and togetherness within the team.

Tel also revealed that he had spent time focusing on finishing throughout the week in training, something that clearly paid off when he found the back of the net.

He said: “That was a tough game for us. The opponent played very well. We deserved to win because we fought until the end. I worked this week a lot on finishing. I am very happy for me.

“I hope I can help the team more and keep going. We are always together, work together and win together. I am very happy again about the win and what we showed. We just need to keep going.”

Mohammed Kudus praises Tel after Spurs victory

After the win, Mohammed Kudus shared his delight at finally scoring his first goal for Tottenham as well, admitting that as an attacker, it was a huge confidence boost for him.

Kudus also took a moment to praise Mathys Tel, highlighting the young forward’s commitment and focus in training throughout the week.

Kudus pointed out that Tel’s dedication in training had clearly translated into his performance on the pitch, and the Ghanaian expressed his admiration for the Frenchman’s work ethic.
