Mathys Tel’s future at Tottenham Hotspur is once again attracting attention, with fresh reports from France suggesting the forward is emerging as a major target for an ambitious Ligue 1 side ahead of the summer window.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Mathys Tel has struggled to nail down a starting spot in north London this season despite playing under three different managers.

For much of the campaign, whenever Tottenham had the majority of their first-team players fit, Tel was forced to bide his time on the touchline.

That lack of game time ultimately saw him linked with a move away from Spurs during the winter window, with a host of clubs keen on his signature.

However, Tel stayed put and has since come to Tottenham’s aid as they navigate an injury crisis under Roberto De Zerbi.

Tottenham forward Mathys Tel wanted by Paris FC

According to a report from LE10Sport, it is claimed that Mathys Tel is now being lined up by Ligue 1 side Paris FC as the French outfit searches for their next ‘star player’ this summer.

Paris FC have managed to avoid relegation from Ligue 1 and are now aiming to establish themselves as a mainstay in the French top flight, with strengthening their squad through key additions forming part of that strategy.

This is not the first time Paris FC have entered the race for Tel, with Spurs Web previously reporting the club’s interest during the winter window. It is understood that the French side will make a move if Tottenham are relegated to the Championship.

Spurs must remain patient with Mathys Tel

There is no denying that Tel is yet to make a significant impact at Tottenham since his permanent move last summer.

This season, the young Frenchman has managed just three goals and two assists in all competitions, which is far from eye-catching numbers.

However, he remains a player with huge potential and could yet develop into a world-class winger for Spurs.

This season, there have been glimpses of the quality Tel possesses, with the forward showing real directness in his wing play.

LE10Sport also added that Paris FC have Mason Greenwood on their radar, although a move for the Englishman could prove difficult due to his hefty price tag.
