Mathys Tel will only change Tottenham transfer stance under one condition amid offers from three countries

Mathys Tel wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur before the transfer deadline unless one big thing changes at the club.

According to reports, Tel was furious at Thomas Frank’s decision to bring Dominic Solanke back into the Champions League squad in his place.

However, Frank’s decision was vindicated as Solanke led the line impressively against Borussia Dortmund and found the back of the net in his first start of the season.

Over the past 24 hours, it has been widely reported that Tel is pushing to leave Spurs before the transfer window shuts, and the forward has now seemingly given the Lilywhites an ultimatum.

Mathys Tel’s Tottenham future is tied with that of Thomas Frank

German journalist Kerry Hau has now revealed that Tel is ‘planning his Tottenham farewell’, with Paris FC joined in the race for the Frenchman by other clubs across the continent.

The 20-year-old has offers not just from France but also from Premier League and La Liga sides, but a return to the Bundesliga is not on the cards for the player this month.

The journalist adds that the only thing that could cause Tel to reconsider his Spurs future is if the North London club sack Frank.

Hau wrote on X: “Mathys Tel is planning his Tottenham farewell. Only a dismissal of Thomas Frank would make him reconsider. Alongside Paris FC, further clubs from France as well as from England and Spain are after him. A Bundesliga return is currently off the table.”

Frank had no other choice but to bring Dominic Solanke back into the squad

Tel’s frustration at being removed from the Champions League squad is understandable, given that he has been in good form over the last month and Solanke had not started a game this season ahead of Tuesday.

However, Frank and his staff were making the decision not just for the Dortmund game, but also for the Eintracht Frankfurt clash to follow.

The former Bayern Munich man is the only player Solanke could have replaced in the squad as per UEFA’s rules since the 20-year-old took the England international’s place ahead of the Slavia Prague clash.

However, Tel might yet get his wish as reports indicate that Thomas Frank remains in grave danger of being sacked by Spurs.
