Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he is unsure whether Victor Wanyama will still be a Tottenham Hotspur player over the next ten days with the European transfer window set to close on September 2nd.
The Kenyan has been the subject of interest from Club Brugge with the Belgian side said to be willing to offer £8million while Spurs were holding out for a figure close to £17million with talks continuing to see if an agreement can be reached (Standard).
Wanyama has struggled with injuries over the past two campaigns and is yet to play this season after making just 13 Premier League appearances last term (BBC)..
The 28-year-old faces a battle in North London for regular first team football with Tanguy Ndombele, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp all likely to be ahead of him in Mauricio Pochettino’s pecking order.
Pochettino was asked about Wanyama’s future during today’s press conference ahead of the match against Newcastle United on Sunday.
PA Sport journalist Jonathan Veal Tweeted the following from Hotspur Way.
