Mauricio Pochettino asked about speculation on Dele Alli loan move to PSG

Mauricio Pochettino has refused to be drawn into the speculation linking Dele Alli with a potential loan move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Alli has found playing time hard to come by at Tottenham this season, having fallen down Jose Mourinho’s pecking order.

The midfielder has been heavily linked with a loan move to Paris, with some reports indicating that Tottenham are looking to sign a replacement before letting the midfielder join the Ligue 1 giants on loan.

Friday’s edition of L’Equipe (as relayed by Sport Witness) claimed that Spurs and PSG are still continuing to negotiate over the potential transfer and any deal is only likely to be confirmed in the final hours leading up to the transfer deadline.

Jose Mourinho has said that he expects the England international to still be at the club when the transfer window shuts on Monday.

Pochettino has now said that he is completely focused on improving the side and not concerned about potential moves in the market.

When asked about the speculation regarding Alli, the former Tottenham boss told Sportmax.tv: “You have reminded me about there being three days left [before the window closes], but we are not paying attention to that right now.

“I am focused on the team improving and performing at its best.”

I was initially convinced that the loan move would go through on deadline day but Tottenham could well have a change of heart depending on the severity of Harry Kane’s injury. If Kane is out for a couple of months, it might not be the wisest move to send Alli out on loan as we might potentially end up needing his goals.
