Mauricio Pochettino has recently been linked with both Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid, but he is not looking to give too much away regarding his next job in football.
It seems like a fairytale that Mauricio Pochettino was ever in charge of Tottenham Hotspur, based on everything which has happened since.
The Argentine made Spurs a regular competitor in the Champions League, and he even led them all the way to the final.
However, things fell apart in the early stages of the 2019/20 season, resulting in the manager’s sacking after a five-year spell, which delivered a lot of memories.
Even now though, there is still hope of a return to North London, with Tottenham fans serenading Pochettino on their flight to Madrid, calling on him to come back to Spurs.

Mauricio Pochettino comments on being linked with Real Madrid
While Pochettino is on Tottenham’s radar, he has also been linked with Real Madrid. This comes as there are doubts over whether Alvario Areola is a genuine long-term option at the club.
After landing in Madrid, Pochettino spoke to El Chiringuito TV at the airport terminal. The ex-Spurs boss admitted positive speculation about his future is always welcome when he was asked about rumours tying his future to Los Blancos.
Pochettino said: “When rumours are pleasant, yes. At this level, these things always happen, so I just continue my life as normal.”
He also acknowledged that many rumours in football are not always positive, suggesting that the tone of the current speculation makes it easier to take.
“There are many rumours that are negative. When something is positive, of course, it is different. But you always take it calmly with the experience we have in this world,” Pochettino added.
Pochettino would struggle to turn down Real Madrid for Spurs
Although Pochettino has a deep connection with Spurs, going to Real Madrid could be his final chance to manage one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Ultimately, he had limited success at Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, and so chances like this will not come around all that often.
Tottenham are obviously in a very bad place, whereas Real Madrid are the type of club that only need one good transfer window to make it back to the top of both Spain and Europe.
This means that if Pochettino does receive a job offer from Madrid, it would be very difficult to turn it down.
