Mauricio Pochettino is brutally honest about Vincent Janssen’s future

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a home defeat at the hands of Manchester United earlier this evening and the loss was compounded by a late ankle injury for Harry Kane.

The striker was the subject of a heavy challenge from a United player in injury time as Spurs looked to draw level in injury time after dominating the second half.

The blow left Kane on the floor clutching his ankle after the final whistle with doubts now circulating whether he will be fit to face Fulham next Sunday.

Kane’s potential absence is complicated by the fact that Mauricio Pochettino cannot call upon the services of Heung-min Son to fill the void as he has ably done in the past as he is now unavailable until potentially February 2nd after jetting off for international duty with South Korea.

Earlier today, Vincent Janssen made his second appearance in the space of a few days for Tottenham’s Under-23 side.

Pochettino was asked whether Janssen could potentially play a part to return to the first team. The Spurs boss told Football.London: “No, he is not in my plans.”
