Mauricio Pochettino, Jesus Perez and Harry Kane among those sending support to Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen has received well wishes from across the footballing community after he was left requiring urgent medical treatment during Denmark’s opening match of their Euro 2020 campaign against Finland.

The game was goalless and approaching half-time when the incident happened; a throw-in was played towards Eriksen and the midfielder stumbled before hitting the floor with referee Anthony Taylor immediately called for medical support.

His teammates formed a wall around him to give him privacy as the medics treated him by performing CPR while his wife watched on in distressing scenes. Eriksen was eventually carried off to a loud ovation from the 16,000 fans in attendance.

The Danish FA confirmed later that he was awake, and that the match had been allowed to resume only after his teammates had been assured he was “okay.”

Among those who have sent their support to Eriksen include his former manager Mauricio Pochettino, Jesus Perez, Toby Alderweireld and Harry Kane.
