Mauricio Pochettino mentions Tottenham in message after joining PSG

Mauricio Pochettino mentioned Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton when sending a message to fans on Instagram this evening.

The message followed news that Pochettino had been officially signed as the new boss of Paris Saint Germain in France.

The Argentine thanked supporters for making him and his team feel happy and appreciated in England for the past seven years, labelling managing in the Premier League as a dream come true.

He also added that it was now time for him to embark on a new adventure with PSG, fulfilling a personal ambition of his.

Pochettino played for the French giants 95 times back in the early 2000s and even wore the captain’s armband in the heart of defence (Wikipedia).

The former Spurs head coach spent over five years in North London, taking Tottenham from Europa League dwellers to Champions League finalists before he was sacked in November 2019.

Over one year later and Poch is back in the hot seat, leading one of the biggest clubs in the world, while Spurs are being led by Jose Mourinho, one of the most famous managers in the world.

Pochettino’s full statement read as follows: Thank you to everyone who made our 7 years in England such an incredible experience.

‘My family, staff and me have been so happy here, it has really felt like home and we appreciate all the support and warmth you have shown us. We have made many friends and memories that will last a lifetime.

‘To manage in the Premier League was a dream come true and I hope you will remember me for more now than just Sapporo in 2002! It is time for a new adventure and the opportunity to realise another personal ambition. Big hug, Mauricio x’

At the bottom of the message, Pochettino tagged Tottenham, Southampton and the Premier League Instagram accounts.
