Mauricio Pochettino provides update on Danny Rose’s future

Mauricio Pochettino has today been speaking to the media after holding his first pre-match press conference at Hotspur Way ahead of the new Premier League season.

Yesterday evening saw the summer window close at 5pm for any incoming transfers at English clubs.

One player who was linked with a move away from North London as the clock edged closer to the deadline was Danny Rose.

The England international was the subject of rumoured interest from fellow Premier League side Watford with The Athletic claiming that the left-back had even travelled to the Hornets training ground.

The Independent reported that Spurs rejected a £14million offer from Watford for the 29-year-old.

Pochettino was asked by the media at the press conference for an update on Rose’s future at the club with the Spurs boss insisting that the defender is a very important part of his plan.

PA Sport journalist Jonathan Veal confirmed Pochettino’s view on Rose on Twitter.
