Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has hinted at a possible return, admitting that he still has unfinished business at the club. With pressure mounting on Ange Postecoglou following Spurs’ dramatic slump in form, could a reunion be on the cards?
Tottenham’s season has been anything but smooth. Ange Postecoglou, who started brightly, now finds himself under intense scrutiny as Spurs have plummeted from fifth to 13th in the Premier League table.
Reports claim that Spurs will not make a Postecoglou sack decision until the end of the season when they conduct a thorough review of the injury-hit campaign.
Tottenham allegedly appreciate Andoni Iraola, but are still attempting to back Postecoglou. If a managerial vacancy does eventually open up in N17, Daniel Levy and co could look at the Bournemouth boss.

Mauricio Pochettino addresses Tottenham return talk
While Postecoglou has brought some stability, the uncertainty surrounding his future has fuelled speculation. Fans have not been shy in voicing their desire for a familiar face to return, with Pochettino’s name ringing around north London once again.
Now, the Argentine has broken his silence. Speaking on talkSPORT, Pochettino admitted he still dreams of managing Spurs once more.
Reflecting on his abrupt exit in 2019, he said: “To be honest, the day that I left the club, I was always thinking one day to come back. It is not that I was thinking before the offer from the USA national team; I was thinking to come back.
“The day that I left, I was thinking I would love to one day come back to Tottenham because, like I have said in the past, I felt empty in the moment that I left.
“It was like an unfinished job, and that is why. It is a feeling, it is a dream. I do not know how you can take it or how I can explain it, but for sure, it is a club that is always going to be special for me.
“And I would like one day to have the possibility again to try to arrive in a situation where we can finish in a different way.”
What next for Pochettino and Spurs?
Pochettino is no stranger to English football. His stints with Southampton, Spurs, and Chelsea have solidified his reputation in the Premier League.
His time at Tottenham was particularly memorable, guiding the club to a Champions League final and coming agonisingly close to winning the Premier League.
Currently in charge of the USA national team, his immediate focus will be on preparing for the FIFA World Cup. However, once that campaign concludes, the possibility of a return to Tottenham cannot be ruled out.
For many Spurs supporters, the thought of Pochettino back in the dugout would be nothing short of a dream come true.
