Mauricio Pochettino has made a splash this evening amidst the heavy speculation linking him with a return to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Many Tottenham fans appear to have already set their hearts on a Pochettino reunion this summer as the Argentine’s deal with the USA runs out after their home World Cup.
In fact, some sources have suggested that Pochettino may consider returning to Spurs even if they get relegated, although that is not a possibility that supporters will even bear thinking about right now.
The USA boss has said that he is ‘open to anything’ this summer, but Tottenham fans will not have to wait until the summer to get a direct glimpse of the 54-year-old.

The Athletic have revealed that Pochettino is expected to be at the Metropolitano Stadium this evening to watch his old side take on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16.
Pochettino is an official guest of Atletico for the clash and may have a watching brief over USA midfielder Johnny Cardoso if he is involved this evening.
The Argentine lost the Champions League final in the same stadium as Tottenham Hotspur manager back in 2019, and was sacked just a few months later.
Is this a savvy political move by Pochettino?
The 54-year-old knows very well the kind of affection Tottenham fans have for him, and one would expect the travelling fans to sing his name if they spot him this evening.
Pochettino has repeatedly spoken about his connections with Spurs in the six and a half years since his departure, and has hinted that he has unfinished business at N17.
Just last month, Pochettino suggested that Tottenham should be aiming to win the Champions League and the Premier League, rather than trophies like the Europa League.
It seems like the former Spurs boss knows he is the fans’ preferred choice and is perhaps trying to use that to his leverage to get another crack at the job.
