Antonio Conte has admitted he is trying to improve Tottenham’s poor run of form in the Premier League but is struggling to see change.
Spurs, on the back of Saturday’s stunning win over Manchester City, suffered a 1-0 defeat to relegation candidates Burnley with Ben Mee’s second-half header proving to be the difference.
Conte’s men put on a display that was far from the one seen at the Etihad Stadium, which has also wasted a chance to close the seven-point gap to Manchester United in fourth.
The Italian reiterated after the match that he is doing everything in his power to alter Tottenham’s ‘unacceptable’ league form, which has seen them claim just one win in five games, but says his actions are currently not enough.
Conte said (via Football.London): “We are doing everything to change situation but it’s not enough. Four defeats out of five is not good enough. This doesn’t happen to me.
“Maybe I’m not so good. Tottenham called me to change things but I’m too honest.
“I could just take my salary but I’m too honest. We’ve lost four out of five games. This is unacceptable.
“If we continue on this way we have to pay great attention.”
Tottenham remain on the road this weekend and travel to Leeds United on Saturday lunchtime, who themselves are looking for a response having suffered a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool.

The performance after that Man City display was at the complete opposite end of the spectrum and not good enough. These are the games that Spurs need to be winning to reach the top four – not necessarily City – and results like these have happened far too often in recent seasons.
