‘Means a lot to me’ – Premier League winner admits he has a Tottenham tattoo

Kyle Walker admits that Tottenham continue to have a special place in his heart and revealed that he has a tattoo of the club’s crest on his leg.

Kyle Walker joined Spurs way back in 2010 from Sheffield United and went on to play 229 times for the Lilywhites during his eight-year spell at the club.

He evolved into one of the best right-backs in the Premier League during his time at White Hart Lane and was part of Mauricio Pochettino‘s revolution at N17.

Unfortunately, Walker left Spurs under a bit of a cloud, with reports claiming that he fell out with Pochettino in 2017 (Daily Mail) before the Lilywhites sold him to Manchester City in a £45m deal that year.

The 33-year-old has gone on to win five league titles for Pep Guardiola’s men since his switch to the Etihad Stadium but he has admitted that he will always be indebted to Tottenham for giving him an opportunity at a young age and helping him to evolve into the player he is today.

During an interview with Sky Sports, the Man City star said: “No one really knew about me (when I went to Tottenham) and I’ll forever be indebted to the club.

“I’ve even got a tattoo of a cockerel on my leg just because it means a lot to me that place.”

Walker never gave anything less than 100 per cent every single time he put on a Tottenham shirt, which is why I will always have a lot of respect for him, even though he left the club in unceremonious circumstances at a time when we were on the up as a team.
