‘Mentality shift’ – Some Tottenham fans react to the official signing of Joe Hart

Tottenham Hotspur have now officially announced the signing of former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart on a free transfer this summer.

Some Spurs fans took to social media to react to the news, with the vast majority responding positively to the latest Lilywhite signing, although some questioned the need for a 33-year-old keeper.

Hart brings with him a wealth of Premier League experience, with over 400 appearances under his belt for top-flight teams including Man City, Burnley, and Birmingham City (Wikipedia).

The 33-year-old also has two Premier League winner’s medals, an FA Cup, two League Cups, and four Premier League Golden Gloves to his name.

It was reported by the BBC yesterday that Hart was set to undergo his Tottenham medical and compete with current number two, Paulo Gazzaniga for the deputy position.

Hart had been a free agent since his contract with Burnley expired on June 30, having spent a season on the bench deputising for Nick Pope.

Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to the experienced new signing:
