Tottenham Hotspur have been playing across Asia over the last week, starting with Juventus in Singapore and today coming up against Man United in Shanghai.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have been going about their own pre-season tour in America, so how have the two rivals still managed to butt heads?
During Tottenham’s pre-match routine against the Old Lady last Sunday, they took their usual team photo on the pitch.
However, the players failed to line up properly, leaving somewhat of a gap next to Toby Alderweireld and above Japhet Tanganga.
One Spurs fan took the picture and captioned it with the witty ‘Why was Ozil in our team photo?’ implying that Ozil regularly goes missing for Arsenal.
While footballers often ignore their comments sections on Twitter, the Arsenal midfield man decided to rise to this bait, responding to the Tottenham joker.
He quote tweeted the joke and replied with ‘If you look closely, you can see your trophy cabinet.’
It appears that the Tottenham-Arsenal rivalry rumbles on whether it is only pre-season or not.
