Michael Bridge claims ex-Spur is considering to do the unthinkable with his next move

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has claimed that ex-Tottenham Hotspur right-back Serge Aurier would like to stay in England after becoming a free agent.

The Ivory Coast international was linked with a move to Arsenal yesterday after being offered to the Woolwich, with Mikel Arteta having given the green light for talks to commence (Ekrem Konur).

Tottenham agreed to mututally terminate the contact of the defender on transfer deadline day, with the former PSG man having under a year still to run on his current deal.

Aurier had spent the last four years in North London, and according to Bridge, he would be open to crossing the divide to continue his career in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old, who is now a free agent has also received offers from France, Russia and Turkey and will be able to join his next club outside of the transfer window.

Aurier had divided opinion throughout his four-year stay at the club, but I think fans would all have one opinion of him if he did indeed join Arsenal.

I think it’s safe to say he would not get the nicest reception when Arsenal travel to play Spurs in the North London derby.
