Michael Owen has his say on who will win between Crystal Palace and Spurs

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has had his say ahead of this afternoon’s Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham, who came into this weekend as Premier League leaders are unbeaten in their last 10 games, winning seven and drawing three.

Palace have also started the season well and have equalled their highest points tally after 11 matches of a Premier League season. They also had 16 at this stage in 2015-16.

Roy Hodgson’s side will come into the match high on confidence after hammering West Bromwich Albion 5-1 last weekend, especially for Christian Benteke who scored two goals in a game, which was as many as he managed in his previous 31 league outings.

Owen believes that Tottenham need to be more positive with their game plan at Selhurst Park after playing predominantly on the counter attack against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal in recent matches.

He told BetVictor: “This will be an interesting game. Crystal Palace are comfortable playing on the counter-attack and with Wilfred Zaha fit once again, they can be very dangerous.

“The same can be said for Tottenham. They don’t mind being patient and get a lot of joy on the counter-attack. They’ll have to be a more positive here, and I think they will be.

“Pound for pound they have the better team by quite a distance, so I fancy Jose’s men to take the points.”
