Michael Owen has his say on who will win between Tottenham and Brighton

Former Real Madrid and Liverpool forward Michael Owen has given his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Brighton this evening.

Spurs may have lost at Manchester City on Saturday, but with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all losing over the course of the Bank Holiday weekend it means that Mauricio Pochettino’s side still occupies third place in the Premier League table.

A win against Chris Hughton’s strugglers could see Spurs go three points ahead of Chelsea which will see both sides having played the same amount of matches.

Tottenham have won all three of their home games in all competitions since moving into their stadium, scoring seven goals and conceding none and will be hoping that the run continues as they look to cement their place in next season’s Champions League.

Tottenham have lost four Premier League home games this season, just one fewer than they’d lost at home in their three previous league campaigns combined.

Owen believes that Spurs will take all three points from the match.

He told BetVictor: “Spurs have won all three games played at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium without conceding a goal and I expect them to continue that sequence against Brighton even though the Seagulls picked up a terrific point at Molineux on Saturday.

“Chris Hughton’s side have failed to score in their last five league games and they look sure to defend deep, and in numbers, against the Champions League semi-finalists. I expect Spurs to eventually break down the Brighton defence although they may have to be patient as they look to cement their place in the top four.”
