Michael Owen on who will win between Burnley and Spurs

Former Liverpool and England striker Michael Owen has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League match against Burnley.

Jose Mourinho’s side are the visitors to Turf Moor on Monday evening with the hosts having failed to win any of their opening five top flight encounters this season.

Tottenham have kept just two clean sheets in their last 28 Premier League away games, both in goalless draws last season against relegated sides Bournemouth and Watford.

The North Londoners come into the game on the back of the 2-0 win against LASK on Thursday night in the Europa League and will certainly be looking to secure three points this time around following the late disappointment against West Ham United last weekend.

Owen believes that Spurs will return to winning ways and condemn the Clarets to another defeat but does not foresee it being plain sailing for the away side.

He told BetVictor: “Spurs will still be licking their wounds after surrendering a 3 goal lead inside the last 10 minutes against West Ham. Burnley have been limited going forward this season, however, at the back they can be very difficult to break down. That said, I think Tottenham have enough to find a way through and can see them shading this by the smallest of margins.”
