Michael Owen has his say on who will win between Everton and Spurs

Former Liverpool and England striker Michael Owen has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s trip to Everton tomorrow afternoon.

Defeat to Liverpool on Sunday has meant that Spurs find themselves in eleventh place in the Premier League table while Marco Silva’s side have had an even worse start and are just two points off the drop zone.

Everton have won seven of their last nine Premier League home games. The Toffees have kept a clean sheet in seven of their last 10 Premier League matches at Goodison Park.

However, they lost their last two home league games against Spurs by an aggregate score of 2-9 (0-3 and 2-6).

Spurs will be without Danny Rose through suspension, while Hugo Lloris and Erik Lamela are ruled out through injury. Jan Vertonghen will be assessed ahead of kick-off due to a hamstring issue (Spurs official).

Owen believes that Spurs will finally end their awful run of away form which has seen them winless in 11 Premier League away games (D2, L9).

He told BetVictor: “Spurs scored six at Goodison in the corresponding game last season and I expect Mauricio Pochettino’s side to take all three points against an Everton side who may consider themselves unfortunate not to pick up at least a point on the south coast against Brighton on Saturday.

“Spurs were flattered by the scoreline at Anfield on Sunday, but that was against a Liverpool side at the top of their game. They may just have enough to take all three points back to the capital.

“Spurs to win and both teams to score.”
