Michael Owen on who will win between Liverpool and Tottenham

Michael Owen has tipped Liverpool to beat Tottenham Hotspur when both sides meet at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs will be looking for a change of fortunes following the international break having only managed to pick up one point from their last twelve available on offer.

The poor run of form has seen Mauricio Pochettino’s side having gone from potential outside title contenders to joining Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United in a battle for the third and fourth spots.

North London rivals Arsenal are just a point behind Spurs in third, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United are three points off in fifth.

Tottenham will have to end Liverpool’s impressive run of 36 league matches without a defeat at home if they are to come away from Merseyside with a victory.

Owen has predicted that it will be Liverpool who will take all three points to continue their push for a long-awaited league title.

He told BetVictor: “Liverpool have lost just one of their last 24 home PL games with Spurs and I expect the hosts to be top of the table on Sunday evening after, what promises to be, a cracking game at Anfield.

“The Reds are unbeaten in their last 36 home league games while Spurs are without a win in their last four – a run which has seen the end of their title challenge. Liverpool to win, but it could be a bumpy ride.”
