Michael Owen on who will win between Spurs and Bournemouth

Michael Owen has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Bournemouth tomorrow afternoon.

Spurs return to North London for the second time in the space of a few days following the tense victory against Olympiacos on Tuesday night.

After coming from 2-0 down to win 4-2, Jose Mourinho maintained his 100% record since taking charge of the club.

Eddie Howe’s side arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium a point behind their opponents in eleventh place in the Premier League table.

The majority of Spurs fans will be looking for a third win in a row to continue their push to try and close the gap on the top four and secure a fifth successive season of Champions League football.

Owen has tipped Tottenham to beat the Cherries but will once again fail to keep a clean sheet.

The former Liverpool and Manchester United forward believes that Mourinho will have worked on defending set pieces during the week after conceding against West Ham and Olympiacos.

He told BetVictor: “Spurs came from two goals down to beat Olympiakos midweek and seven goals and six points across two competitions add up to a tremendous start to life under Jose Mourinho. I again think there will be goals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday when Bournemouth are the visitors.

“The Cherries have lost their last couple of league games and, surprisingly perhaps, 50% of the goals scored by Eddie Howe’s side have come from set-pieces – 8 of 16 – so far this season – and that figure does not include penalties.

“Spurs conceded goals from set-pieces against both West Ham in the Premier League and Olympiakos on Tuesday and this is an area that Mourinho is likely to work on ahead of the visit of Eddie Howe’s side.”
